This series explores the vintage comic book ads appearing throughout the fifties to eighties. These products represent some of the most ambitious claims in the history of advertising. Using clever (and technically accurate) language, misguided expectations were set, logic was cast to the wayside and imaginations ran wild.
This artwork explores the bizarre power of the ads, and whatever could compel readers to mail off that $1.00 (plus 25¢ to help cover postage and handling costs).
